Every Tuesday night at Baobab Café is Tuesday Night Groves, featuring Jazz, R&B, and Blues Sensation: Eddie Charles. Eddie Charles is a Kansas City native, now living in Las Vegas, NV. A saxophonist and a lead vocalist extraordinaire. He’s a solo Recording Artist that has performed over many years in many diverse genres of music: R&B, Gospel, Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Swing, and Blues. He presents an ear-pleasing unique voice that is as deep as Lou Rawls, as smooth as Sam Cooke, and as flavorful as Teddy Pendergrass.
The melodious sounds produced from his Sax are reminiscent of Stanley Turrentine and Grover Washington Jr. He is most at home on stage giving live performances, keeping the fires steadily burning with his stage presence and bringing excitement to the audiences.
He has performed at many venues, including The Blue Room, Chaz on the Plaza, The Phoenix. Other venues include Las Vegas’ Tropicana Hotel with Skye Dee Miles, Gordon Biersch with the Millard Jackson Cool Mist Band. Ron DE Cars Event Center, the House of Blues with Guitarists Rick Berthod, The Dispensary Jazz Lounge with Uli Geissendoerfer Trio.
